Downtown Development Week, Oct. 8-14, celebrates Indiana towns and cities’ commitment to preserving and investing in their communities.
Downtown areas are often prominent employment centers, community gathering places, local business incubators and the historic core of a community. Downtown Development Week is an excellent opportunity to showcase all of the positive activities and investments that are happening in Indiana’s downtowns. It’s not too late to plan an event, and there is no celebration too big or too small. An easy way to participate in Downtown Development Week is by transforming regular activities like farmers markets into a downtown-themed event. If your community plans to hold an event, be sure to let the Indiana Office of Community & Rural Affairs know by filling out this survey so they can help promote it.
